NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM IN AMSTERDAM REVIEW

Back to one of my favorite topics! Lipsticks! :) I've been meaning to sit down and write a proper review for NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (SMLC) in Amsterdam, so here it is!

I am not too confident wearing bloody red lip shades. Funny because I've been wearing a bold Fuchsia Pink lippie for one whole year. MAC Candy Yum Yum has been my lipstick staple the past year (Review HERE). Pinks and reds are equally bold but, I don't know, it's just that I feel that I look more mature when I sport a red shade.

Until I tried NYX SMLC in Amsterdam.

I saw this first when I went shopping at Manila International Book Fair 2014 (Hauls HERE) but as I passed by SM Mall of Asia's beauty section, the inevitable happened.

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
+ Mousse-like texture. I think that's what set this product apart from MAC Ruby Woo and the like. It tends to have a subtle red-ish glow that illuminates your lips just right.

+ Pigmented. Nyx is known for their pigmented products. One swipe is enough. 2 swipes really gives you a bold red shade.

+ Price. I bought it for Php 400 approx. Not too bad. Though note that you can buy from web resellers at a much cheaper price.

CMK WISHFUL THOUGHTS:
+ Mousse-like texture. This fact is sort of a double edged sword. I don't like that I can't see the real contents because of it being a mousse.
*
+ Dry Lips. This can be an issue because it's still a matte lip shade. Better yet, exfoliate or apply a petroleum jelly before you swipe.

CMK THINKS:
This product is great for beginners who are still testing the waters with red shades like myself. It's wearable and doesn't attract that much attention. Sorry as I don't have a picture as of yet. Closest I got is my FOTD HERE. -CMK

  1. That is such a pretty shade! Too bad, I've had a bad experience with Nyx. Very drying on my lips. :(
