HOW TO RENEW YOUR PRC LICENSE AT SM MALLS (RENEWAL CENTERS)?

Most, if not all, licensed professions {aside from lawyers} are being regulated by Professional Regulation Commission (commonly known as PRC).

Since some past years, I've had the privilege to renew my license as a Certified Public Accountant every 3 years. Expiration date will be on my every 3rd birthday.

Based on PRC pronouncement found HERE, most professionals can renew their license  at Business Center of any SM Mall.

My last renewal happened at Professional Regulation Commission at Sampaloc, Manila. Needless to say, you have to allot one day to process such. Specially if you're living far from the area. In my case, I'm from far south so I did took a leave. I recall that the process took so long since you have to go from one window to the next, but it's possible to accomplish the task in one visit.

HOW TO RENEW YOUR PRC LICENSE AT SM MALLS (RENEWAL CENTERS)?

1. Download the FORM and accomplish accordingly.
2. Photocopy of your old PRC ID (back to back).
3. Paste a picture on the form (picture should bear your full name, passport size).
4. Pass the requirements to SM Business Center.
5. They'll take a picture from their web cam.
6. Pay Php 500.00 and pick up your renewed license after 2 months.

Some few tips after the jump!

TIPS:
♣ You are required to wear a collared top (or blazer). Otherwise, they can't snap a photo of you, which translates to you having to do the process again.
♣ Make sure to bring the original old ID too.
♣ Be there early! The line can get crazy. Take it from me! It took me almost 2 hours to queue.
♣ To claim, make sure to bring your stub. Also, there's no need to queue for claiming {I'm quoting the lovely SM lady who assisted me earlier}.

THOUGHTS:
I'll be honest, there's obviously a manpower shortage in this area of the mall. There's only 1 personnel for the entire 45+ people waiting to be served! The line was THAT terrible that an old man (prolly in his late 50's) snapped and shouted his sentiment of us taking hours to PAY! I couldn't agree more.

However, between this and going to PRC which is so far from where I live - this is the lesser evil, so I endured. Anyway, it's a privilege to have a license and this process is every 3 years - I think that's enough consolation to just smile and be pleasant to the one and only SM Lady servicing the entire queue {it's not even her fault, if you'll think about it}. Only workable solution {for now}: Be there early. ☺-CMK

    1. Hello there - I think the maximum 'early' renewal that PRC allows is 3 months (before your license's expiration date).

  8. Ms. Jamie Rose, I tried to renew online, however, the appointment can only be done at the Main branch in Sampaloc. I find this useless since they don't cater to regional offices (Baguio, in my case). You have to personally go there din lang. But this online renewal is a good thing for those near Manila area. Buti na lang at may SM. However, I'm not sure if renewal for engineers (EE and ECE) is allowed. I remember last time that we tried to renew in SM Baguio, my husband and I were denied.. Any idea about this?

    Your comments are greatly appreciated.
