When we are on the road, trying to get the most out of our business dealings there can be a lot of downtime in-between meetings and check-ins, where you end up cuddling your thumbs. But rather than being stuck in a hotel room, you need to make the most of your precious breaks, let’s show you some ways to make the most of your travel downtime rather than just contemplating room service with your movie!

Hit the Greens!

Golf is one of those things that seems like a must for anyone out of a certain age, and it seems that you can definitely make the most of a few rounds of golf. If you are an early bird, take the opportunity to visit one of the many golf courses in Kent and fine-tune that swing. The great thing about golf is that it's one of those things that you can do by yourself, but it's still beneficial for your mind, body and soul.

Hit the Movies!

You might have a very busy home life, travelling for work is the ideal opportunity to do the things that you want to do. If you don't like the idea of resting and recharging in your hotel room, you can venture out into the nearest city centre, and there is plenty for you to do! You can, of course, hit the movies, but if you are looking for something a little bit more rejuvenating, museums are a wonderful way to feed your brain. There are some fantastic museums in London. Of course, wherever you are, you're going to get a very specific dose of culture that is central to that location. Stretch that brain of yours!

A Proper Spa Session

You might have a steam room and swimming pool in your hotel, but it’s important to use these things because when you go a little bit further afield, travelling takes its toll and can be very stressful on the mind and body. So, therefore, a good deep tissue massage followed by a swimming pool and a sauna or steam room is going to work wonders at detoxifying you. It's important to remember that when we are travelling for work that we don't stay in work mode. We need to be focused and ready, but the rigours of travel can take it out of us. So instead of admitting defeat and going for an early night, you are away from everything you know, and so it's important to have the opportunities to have some perspective, so you can rest and recharge properly while also getting the job done.

So many people that are travelling rely on fast food and unhealthy snacks, which is partly due to feeling hemmed in their hotel, but for those people that are travelling, you've got so many different ways for you to relax, rejuvenate, and recharge. Travel is a great way to broaden the mind, but for those business people always feeling in work mode, you've got to take advantage of this opportunity, and get yourself good sleep while you’re at it!
