Make up bag is a metaphor. These beauties usually sit on my vanity table, 98% of the time. I am one of the few lucky ones - and for this I am so grateful for - that never had any major acne issues ever since. Even when I was a teenager, I rarely get pimples and acnes. My mum taught me the life-changing magic of a simple yet consistent skin care. Every day wash your face and moisturise. Use minimal makeup because your skin is your best accessory. Eat berries and fresh fruits. Avoid stress whenever possible. These are but some of the few reminders I can hear her say even if we are miles apart. You know what's the coolest thing? As mundane as these tips are... it works!

Here are my everyday makeup go to's:
Heavy moisturiser from L'Oreal. Since it is winter, I'd like to apply thick moisturiser every morning and night. You don't need a super expensive product. Do you know that L'Oreal and Lancome belong to the same group of companies? Point is: expensive products do not always equate to quality ones. You may find this BBC Documentary clip interesting. They studied the effectiveness of moisturisers (from all price points) and guess what? Our lowly NIVEA topped the list! Urban Decay Naked 2. Neutral colours are the best in my opinion. On days I have extra 5 minutes, I dab YDK and Snakebite colours on my lids to give my eyes some pop! Benefit Brow Mascara. This one's on the expensive side but it takes forever to finish so it's still a win. Nars Bronzer in Laguna. I use this because it doesn't leave an orange cast on my cheeks. As with any other contour, you have to blend it thoroughly. Nars blush in *excuse the vulgar title* Deep Throat. Whoever thought of Nars colour names has some explaining to do. Blush is pigmented and suits my olive skin well. I interchangeably use three lipsticks depending on my mood: Charlotte Tilbury in Amazing Grace, MAC Amplified Lipstick in Craving and Maybelline Color Sensational Matte in Smoky Rose. This mini highlighter is the latest addition on my stash. So, I was walking through Champ Elysees on my last night in Paris when I spotted Sephora! I cannot resist the urge of buying this cute Becca highlighter in Opal. It's been three years since I bought a highlighter (excuses), and so needless to say: I gave in. This is a classic example of a girl is a girl is a girl. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk! -CMK
