WINTER ESSENTIALS 2017

There are few essentials that are always on my closet rack for winter. It's from early November to late March in London. I've read a book this year called 'Goodbye Things' by Fumio Sasaki and it has helped me validate what I was contemplating years and years before. That some few quality clothes are enough. It makes the decision making process each morning a breeze because I have a capsule wardrobe and the mix and match of these is effectively my uniform.

Grey Coat (Forever 21). I got it summer of 2017 at a half the price. Obviously, because summer was about to begin and winter (that time) was ending. It has been my official office coat for months now. Since it's neutral, I never have a problem on colour coordination. Mustard Jumper (H&M). I've never owned a mustard jumper so when I saw this on the rack, I grabbed it at once. It was very itchy at first but after two washes and a fabric conditioner, it was okay and has become my favourite especially during weekends. Ankle Boots (Dorothy Perkins). You wouldn't believe the steps I've made using this boots. I've trekked Arthur's Seat in Scotland (Top 10 things to do in Edinburgh HERE) with these booties. That and a whole lot more. Leggings. My leggings is a mixture of a fleece ones (from Primark) and regular ones (from Forever 21 and H&M).

Dusty Rose Wrap Coat (Ms. Selfridges). For a dash of muted colour. Grey top (H&M). I usually pair it with a gold necklace from Accessorize. Black Coat (Ms. Selfridges). It has a detachable faux fur coat but I haven't used it yet. This is my go-to on formal client meetings and whenever I want to look all dressed up. Leather Ankle Boots in Coffee (Geox). I've discovered this Italian brand when I was walking through the stretch of Oxford Circus. I love it because it's waterproof and after a couple of wears, I find it comfortable. This is my new favourite during workdays! Navy Knit with White Piping (Zara). It works well in jeans and leggings. Trench Coat (Zara). I got this two years ago and it has been my favourite autumn/winter transition outfit ever since. Knee High Boots (Forever 21). Another boots that are indeed made for walking (and running). I am amazed it's still in one piece after all the leg work it's been through! Maroon Top (Primark). It is a bit transparent so I pick a dark colour. Makes a very nice lining especially when the wind is mild. Black rucksack (Knomo). My latest bag addition. During winter, I tend to reach out for my Michael Kors Sutton bag but I find it heavy to carry around especially that I go to the gym after work twice a week.

There you have it! My winter essentials for 2017. This year, it's all neutral with a pop of colour. -CMK
