ORGANIX (OGX) RENEWING ARGAN OIL OF MOROCCO REVIEW

They say curly {read: digi-permed} hair is high maintenance. I disagree. I've had my hair digipermed last 2011, and I don't have any regrets ever since. HERE's my lastest post about Mr. Shin's magic on my hair. Truth is, I am yet to post the most recent one since I've had my hair permed last October 2014, just before I go to London.

Whilst I'm making a statement that treated hair are not high maintenance, there's a couple of TLC steps one has to make to ensure split ends are minimal! This is not the first time I've came across Organix Argan Oil products. I saw them first in Landmark Makati but I find the price too overrated back then.

Then while doing the mandatory Christmas shopping just before I go to Glasgow Scotland last December, I spotted the same bottle and this time, I feel the need {okay, the urge} to grab one.

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
Light weight. I hate oil products that feel like oil {not sure if I'm making sense} good thing this bottle is anything but that. You can still feel some oily sensation attached to it but nothing too heavy. Scent. It's smells delicate and woody at the same time. Too swift that before you're done, applying them onto your locks, the scent is gone. Reasonable Price. £5.00 for 100 ml is not over the top if you'll think about it. Plus I'm saying this after 5 weeks of using it with approx 75% left on the tube. It does the job. Yeah, so far, I'm happy with the results. Not to say my split ends are 100% gone but the change is noticeable.

TIP: Apply this before you sleep. Or if you intend to stay at home. Thing is - with oil on your tresses, it's noticeable however light it may seem to be.

SCRIBBLED NOTES #35: BE KIND TO YOURSELF

Sometimes we are so courteous to others but are often hard on ourselves. We're picky on which words to use in a conversation but we haphazardly tell demeaning words to ourselves. We call 'us' silly, stupid, as*hole, etc. when we forgot to do things expected of us. Don't you think it's about time to be aware and be kind to everyone?

Including ourselves.

I was under antibiotics the past days {hence, no frequent blog posts due to yours truly feeling under the weather}. I rushed to work this morning and found out that I left my medicines in the flat. I was tempted to call myself stupid or dumb ass for not being smart enough to bring that with me but I remember this whole thing of being kind to oneself.

But really, why does it pay to go easy on yourself?

It's a healthy thing to do.
Being uptight for the smallest reasons won't do us good. Adjusting to 'universe conspiring' may be better. Whenever you feel like you're about to explode: Look outside when there's the sky or sun perhaps, breathe in and drink water. Don't say or think about anything for 2 minutes and notice the difference. There's no need to react right away. A friend of mine said: People are wired to give judgment and opinions, but there are situations that don't need either. Pause and acknowledge things as they happen. Sometimes, that's the wisest alternative one can make.

Things are not as bad as they appear to be.
We have this habit of maximising the bad and minimising the good. Should it be the other way around? Sure I forgot my medicines but I should be thanking God instead that I can take a good walk outside and smell fresh air. On my way back I saw the sun and even ate my frozen chocolate mousse back home. How's that for a consolation?

CMK LONDON DIARY : BATH BOMBS AND YANKEE CANDLES

It's easy to blog when everything is going your way. Like, you can make sense out of things and everything has pink bows on it. However, we know that LIFE is not like that {and then blogging becomes quite a challenge!}.  I think the earlier we come to terms with LIFE being bipolar, the better. And like I said on my recent POST, when so many things are going on in your mind, 2 things are quite handy. Having a long shower is one of those.

Enter: Bath Bombs and Yankee Candles

I like the idea of a shower downtime. To me, this should be a need rather than a want. Splashing water. Pristine scent of a candle. Just you and your thoughts. I'll be honest, I haven't heard of bath bombs before. Then before Christmas, me and my friend S went to Bentalls {like Rustans} and there's a bath bomb sale! :)

Simplest way to describe it: Fill your bath tub with water and drop this luscious bomb! It will explode to a scent-sational pieces thus making your bath time a real bliss! You can buy one from Lush, though the bath bomb I'm holding is from a local UK shop. Yankee candles are another mood upper! I got mine in Snowflake Cookie flavor! These are some few things that make winter extra cozy!

When life seems so complicated, you may want to consider taking a step back and deal with the here and now. Often times, we are so worried by too many things we forget that we are so blessed in many ways. Sure, life is weirdo but it's meant to be lived and enjoyed.

LOREAL TRIPLE ACTIVE NIGHT MOISTURISER REVIEW

Today's blog title. Have you noticed that 'moisturiser' is spelled with an S rather than Z? This is one of the many subtle differences between American and British English. In the UK, terms are spelled as colour (with U), especially (with E) and Z is pronounced as 'zed' rather 'zey'. They also have glottal 't' so they say bottle as bo^lle. The next time you listen to Ed Sheeran's "Don't" song - notice how he raps "bottle" of gin :)

Okay. Grammar Nazi signing off. I just thought this is an interesting way of introducing our first beauty product review for 2015! Or maybe not? :D

I have this habit of using different products for night moisturisers (day moisturiser is a different story). Since I've just hit pan of my Olay Night Cream (Review HERE), I fancied getting this L'oreal beauty pot for a change! It's £4 (approx Php 280) per 50 ml. Very reasonable, if you ask me.
*

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
It's pinkish and smells super light. Literally, I look forward to apply this every after I wash my face. I also have a thing for their packaging. It's a royal blue, glass pot that's looks so regal on my beauty compartment. Substance-wise, it's super hydrating! It's not sticky at all and you don't need that much to feel you're covered for the night.

SCRIBBLED NOTES #34: MY THANK YOU LIST 2014 (PART 2)

JULY 2014
This month was spent catching up with my friends and family! After London and Japan, I'm back to sunny Manila. I've enjoyed tons of movie watching, coffee chats and literally fun times with all of them. I guess it's true when they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Who says it's only for romantic relationships? :) I thank God because I've realized how many friends I have! When your calendar was quite confused because you have so many friends to meet, that's a good problem to have!

AUGUST 2014
I finally decided to buy a MacBook Air! You see, sometimes, when you have the means to buy things - you didn't see it as a blessing. But I think having the money and the joy that comes from your purchase both comes from the LORD! At first, I was not sure whether to buy this baby but now, ohhh I'm glad I did :)

SEPTEMBER 2014
This is more of my "me"-month really. I went to Manila International Book Fair and caught up with my blogging duties. This was also the time that I arranged the stuff I need for my visa on my next London trip. I thank JESUS because amidst my stress-balls alert, He was my cornerstone. HERE's my book haul for MIBF 2014.

OCTOBER 2014
I'm back to my second home! :) It took me a while but I fell in love with London. I don't know, somehow, it just feels home to me. And oh, let's not forget that I missed my luggage on my way back here! In case you forget, HERE's the full account. Another testament how great our LORD is. In big or small situations, GOD is our very present help in trouble.

NOVEMBER 2014
Oh, how could I forget November? The magical month when Ross and I had a bonding! As in sleep-over-every-weekend type of bonding! So much fun that it made our goodbye a bittersweet one (click HERE for some recos). Words are not enough to describe how much fun I had with them! The shot was taken at British Museum. We went to Notting Hill too and watched Miss Saigon! Fun times! PS: Can you actually have a word count how many times "fun" appeared on this paragraph? :P

DECEMBER 2014
I am telling you, another full blog post is not enough to chronicle my December thank you list! I went to Glasgow, Scotland. Passed an exam. Met new people. Had a connect church group {more like home to me}. And many, many more. Among these, I am certain that the best gifts are the ones that I can't see or touch. GOD. Love. Joy. The thought that with Jesus, things will work together for good. :)

Whoah. That is a LOOOT of blessings! It took me more than an hour to finish this 2-part series but I know that it's worth it. How's your thank you list going? -CMK

SCRIBBLED NOTES #33: MY THANK YOU LIST 2014 (PART 1)

There is always a reason to say thank you to Jesus and this year - amidst my lazy bones wanting to cozy up in my bed - I decided to list down my thank you notes for each month of 2014. It's amazing how these 2 things can do the trick when so many things are going on in your head: a) take a long shower and b) count your blessings.

JANUARY 2014
Me and mum went to Singapore and Malaysia! Time flies so fast, I reckoned it's been a year since we did that. This was mum's first time in both countries so I was excited to tour her around. Fact: I didn't know how to use a map, let alone directions! However, this one time - I don't have a choice. It went well! Little did I know that there's a reason behind this. That has something to do with my thank you list on May 2014.

FEBRUARY 2014
Another dream came to pass! Our young professional group held a financial literacy seminar in our church {yes, church and money do jive}. It was successful than we ever expected, and all credit goes to the Lord. I was tasked to give a talk and I was so happy that the crowd's response was massive. HERE's a quick summary, if you like.
**
*
I guess this warrants a thank you note too purely because both the gifts {and the giver} were totally unexpected. You know me, I don't usually spill personal stuff in here but for the sake of clarity, we are good friends {nothing more, nothing less}. I am simply thankful that God gives us people whom we can laugh with and share our weirdness!

MARCH 2014
My birthday month! I've been hospitalized a week before my big day and thank GOD, I am back to my healthy self now. The prospect of illness can crush anybody and I was no exception. There was one time that I intend to recite the whole of Psalm 23 in my thoughts but all that's coming out was "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want..." Looking back, I guess that's what God wants me to resonate. That He is a good Shepherd and I should not be worried.

HAPPY 2015!

Hello Guys! How's your Christmas and New Year's celebration? I hope you had a meaningful one. Last stretch of the holidays and we're back {to work}! We'll technically, I've been in the office in between the break so that's no surprise to me. As weird as it is - and you may probably hate me for this but - working in between is okay with me. It's just that I tend to get bored too easily, plus I had my fair share of vacation in Glasgow, Scotland. I'll blog about the trip soon. For now, let's savor this bit:

2015 is here.

Page 2 of 365 days.

I've been talking to a friend on a New Year's Eve, and here's the snippet in paraphrase:

CMK: Sometimes, thinking about the future scares me. Maybe because, you don't know what lies on the other side. Like, fear of the unknown.
A: Yeah but we know that "All things work together for good to those who love God".

On a totally different conversation:
CMK: I am usually a person who needs to know "why" things happen...
A: If we always know the "whys", there would be no need for faith. Isn't it?

A fresh page on our calendars is a good time for us to do 3 things:
