BEAUTY ALERT : MAKEUP REMOVER TIPS

Etude House Makeup Remover + Cottons

Makeups! Ahh.. Women loves them no doubt. And there's always a place for new ones.
As much as we love makeups - I guess it's important to know
how to remove them (for a time) as well.
Today's post is all about make-ups begone! peg.

Think of your skin like sponges. Yes! with pores.
It absorbs whatever you place in there.
That's the reason why it's not healthy to leave your makeup
(on your face) overnight. Aside from the fact that deep
seated dirt have settled in by night.

I'm often being teased by my friends due to my rapid consumption of makeup removers.
I got comments like "Girl, iniinom mo ba ang makeup remover mo?!"
(Are you sure you're not drinking those makeup removers, how come they're all gone?!).
They're right - I'm a bit OC on removing makeups.

As usual, CMK style - I like it plain, simple and clean.
Let's start. Shall we? ♥

1. Clean your canvass with makeup remover.
We have oil based and we have water based.
I prefer oil based since they tend to wipe off the substances much quicker.
Here are my 2 fave makeup removers that I've tried:
Skin Food Aloe Makeup Remover (click HERE)
Etude House Makeup Remover (click HERE).

No brainer - gently remove any substance on your face,
I start with eye shadows, blushes, then lips.
Be generous with cottons, and yep Makeup removers. >:)

Cotton buds for your eyes
Nope - it's not over yet. Time to use that bud and potion.

FASHION ALERT : WHAT'S ON MY FASHION LIST THIS SEASON?

Fashion. There's a world of meaning to such word.
One topic that always makes me giddy. Never fails.
I've been counting some of my wanna-buy list this month,
and I wish to share my 5 Fashion Picks,
in the hope that I'm not alone and you too wants to have these beauties!

1. One Bold Colored Blazer. Of course we'll always love that neutral blazer, but I'm in the mood of raising my color awareness one notch higher. I'm not really sure what color to pick but most probably it would be royal blue or scarlet red. Tip : This works well with your black dresses or pants + plain shirt combination. Just make sure that your colorful blazer takes the center stage.

2. Cat Eye Glasses. Confession to Make: I bought one already! Hihi. Just in time for my next out of town trip. I love how the shape compliments my face. And it's so wearable. It doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. If you look good on it, then go! Tip: There's a trend today of lenses called "Polarized Lenses". Say, when you're driving at night and want to do away with the glare (silaw), that's what you need. Not to mention the taray factor of this cat eye glasses.

3. Sorta Manly Watch. For quite sometime, I've put a ban on buying time pieces but now, I think it's more of a necessity rather than luxury. Last watch I bought was when I was on my work related trip to Prague, which was months ago. So - I think it's time to buy time. Literally! Though I'm actually torn between gold or silver. Ideas please?

There's still 2 of them.
One is more of a basic essential, the other one is a trendy fashion arsenal.

BEAUTY ALERT : GREEN WITH ENVY (POISON IVY) PEG

During the time that I'm writing this post - it's raining hard outside.
Was supposed to go to a swimming party but mother nature has other plans.
So - let's be flexible!

Peg today is Green with Envy (read: Subtle Poison Ivy). It's so easy. Step is only 1-2-3! Friendly note though that for me, less is more - s
o don't be surprised if I skipped the conventional make up theories.

Ready for out-of-the-box make up sesh? Here goes!

1. Set [your face] with a BB Cream + Liquid Eyeliner on the side. I used Skin Food BB Cream and Etude House Liquid Eyeliner. The best make up to wear is a healthy, glowing face. Make sure you wash + tone + moisturize. You may skip the primer if you won't be exposed with much light. I didn't use any foundation for today - it's just BB cream and that's it.

Steps 2 and 3 is just easy-peasy! You can complete this look in less than 10 minutes.

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK WATER SHINE PURE LIPSTICK REVIEW

Never grew tired of loving pink. Baby pink, specially!
Today's beauty loot is P11 kind of pink by Maybelline New York.
I got it some weeks ago, and she's right here sitting
among the pile within my make up case.
Bought it from The Landmark for some cool bargain price!
How much? Not much of a huge difference but hey - time to be one money smart bella!
So how much is this lipstick?

This is part of Maybelline's Watershine Pure Collection.
so think Water + Shine (makes sense).

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
Chappy-lips friendly. It's not matte. It's glossy! So if you're having a
dry-lip day, you're safe!
Subtle Beauty. If you want to achieve a 'barely there'
make up look, this will do the trick.
Sophisticated Case. Don't you love that stainless feel?
Minerals. Healthy lips anyone?

What about some wishful thoughts?
And my discovery on some cool color combination?

CMK AT YVES ROCHER BLOGGER'S EVENT

CMK and Dincee
I'm actually conceptualizing how can I show and tell every good thing that transpired at the Yves Rocher Bloggers' Event. The ideas are just surging - but I need to be organized! So, I thought of listing them one by one. And Yes! With photos!

It all started when I got a nice email from Yves Rocher Brand Manager inviting yours truly to attend their Mini-Shopping Spree at Yves Rocher Trinoma Branch.

Fast forward - Reddie (car) is coding so I took the MRT and haggardo versoza ang peg! Sweating a bit and my pants (darn!) is slipping off! A pretty young lady approached me. Just call her Dincee. I've been introduced as well to Ms. Vianca, Jeff, JC, Saiza and the team. So before I do monologues here. Let some photos do the talking.

CMK ♥ Yves Rocher because of ways more than 1!
Pronounced without the "S" on Yves and without an ending "R" on Rocher :)

The Make Over. I seldom try make overs in fear of getting zits. But I got so comfortable with their products I got excited jumping off in front of the mirror. From moisturizer, toner to primer and lipsticks. Products can speak french (read: Good Quality). The snapshot to your left is the finished product WITH A TWIST. That was taken AFTER riding MRT, Bus and Jeep. Seriously! Talk about staying power!

The Make Ups. Here's the educational part. Yves Rocher is a french brand and they 'grow' their own products. Meaning the plants and all the other ingredients are from their own farm. Up to the ink that they're using. So ditch the chemicals and hello botanical it is! I personally love their foundation. From the picture above - gosh! I'm virtually without pores! That settles it. Haha!

Price Range. If you think that this is a super bloated pricey product. Debunk your myth bellas! Their makeup lines are generally less than Php 500.00. Except for the good mineral foundation (that's good for a year) which costs over a thousand. But again - seeing you with no pores - worth the double thinking dude!

Next stop is where Yves Rocher is well known for. Guess what? 2 words. Anti-___?
Let's see if you got it!

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES 2012

I vividly can recall when weekdays are not yet dominated by Prime time dramas.
I think it was around late 90's when I and my little brother used to
cuddle up on a Friday night to watch a Batman Cartoon Series.
Speaking of the Dark Knight here's an interesting installment of the movie series.

BUT - you have to forgive me as the villain interests me more than Batman himself!
Guess who? Devil wears Prada and Princess Diaries star --- Anne Hathaway!
I'm a bit surprised that she ventured into the Batman franchise but hey she has what it takes!
I can imagine how she purrrs as a cat woman (rawr!).

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Running Time: 175 min.
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: PG-13
Cast: Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Liam Neeson, Anne Hathaway

I find the next picture so mushy ♥
Catwoman is dancing with 'him'.
What's so special? With a mask!
Guess who's on a mask?
And lastly - the 3 quotable quotes!

FASHION ALERT : MUST-HAVE MUSTARD

Mustard. Such a yummy treat for the eyes. Science associates mood swings with colors, hence it encourages people to play with happy colors. But this still remains a fashion post so I'll proceed with the fashion side. *giggle* Admittedly, Mustard is not a famous color. One of the reasons might be it's too picky and sorta difficult to partner with other colors.

However, it's still nice to pull out this arsenal once in a while to make a "sunny" personality a tangible one! Care to have some little tips?

Neutrality is the key. When you have a loud bottom - it is always sensible to pair your top with something neutral. Such as whites, grays, blacks, browns. Earthy colors.
TOTI (tuck out - tuck in) rule. General rule on tapered (carrot) pants, when you're pairing it with flats - tuck it out. If you're donning some wedge, tuck it in.

Easy on accessories. Mustard color is a statement by itself. And you don't want to overdo it (Or else : Disco ball alert)

Details for CMK's Outfit of the Day:
Mustard Carrot Pants from Plains and Prints (click HERE).
White Lace Top from Surplus Shop
Ballet Flats from Sole Mates - SM (click HERE)
Wore this when I went for a chit chat with a friend. Guess where we ate?
At Krazy Garlic (click HERE).

Today's fashion inspiration is a mainstay on this blog. We first saw her on our GRAY MATTER post. Now she's here again - still wearing gray + mustard pants. Talk about consistency. Wink!

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK PURE FOUNDATION MINERAL REVIEW

One quality I'm always looking for in a make up is it being "light weight. I'm a fan of a no-make up feel since day one. And that's what our today's beauty is all about.

Enter: MAYBELLINE PURE FOUNDATION MINERAL
Natural Perfection Powder Foundation with Micro Minerals

Price: Around Php 599.00

That's a mouthful! I like it so much that it's actually not the first time I tried this loot. When
I just started loving makeups, this is one of the few who made it to my list.

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
It's a mineral make-up. Hypo-allergenic and loaded with good stuffs.
Lightweight. You wouldn't know that you have it on your face.
☺ Comes with a kabuki brush. Talk about good buys.
☺They have wide array of shades. From Fair
to Morena (and everything in between).
Easy to blend. Just round up your kabuki brush and ta-daan!
Jam-packed. It looks tiny but the stuff inside may
last from 6 to 12 months (depends how often you
use this 'amazing-crushed-fonda').

What about CMK's wishful thoughts? And some Ochre Shade Sample?

CMK TRAVELS : THINGS TO DO INSIDE THE AIRPORT (AND AIRPLANE)

My love affair with traveling is out in the open.
And if you think traveling via air is such a bore, think again!
Here's an out of the blue list I've come up. Enjoy!

What to do inside the airport (or airplane)?

Enjoy the ambiance (if you're in the new PH airport). You know what I mean.
Picture above was taken last April 2012, when I went to Cebu.
I enjoyed the Mini-Stop coffee jelly, the lazy seat moment,
and just doing random things that you don't do everyday.

Take a masterpiece photo. Photo below was taken by yours truly.
I am so happy that I captured a little rainbow on the runway.
Gee - simple things are fun. And yes -
those are the moments that money can't buy.

Read a magazine. Most airplane companies serve
a complimentary travel mag to give you an idea
on your next travel. That's one of the things that
take my boredom away while in the a-yer (air).

I want to share the most drooling meal I've had in the air!

CMK EATS : KRAZY GARLIK (WENT CRAZY!)

There are days that you want to try something extra-ordinary for a change.
And last Saturday was the day!
Me and one of my closest friends, Glenda tried Krazy Garlik!
No - it's not our first time at this place,
but for some reasons, I appreciate it more on my 2nd visit.

Location:
Krazy Garlik, Greenbelt 5
2nd Level. Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center
Makati City

Things that made us crazy at Krazy Garlik:

Ambiance. Cozy is an understatement. Place is so relaxing.
From their lights to their couches. They also have TV all over the place
but on a minimal volume, of course. Most eaters are by family,
friends or lovers. Didn't see any business-like meetings there.
That's why I find it relaxing. We do business everyday. Time for a cool change!

♠ We also love the entrance pavement.
I was looking for their mascot (a big garlic statue)
they don't have it anymore.
Maybe they ran out of garlic and cooked it too? Haha!

CMK and Glenda
Okay - here we go to our favorite part,
the FOOD!
Their Special Salad is AMAZING!
It's a feast of so many flavors and textures!

SUBTLY SMOKEY : ELF BRIGHTENING EYE COLOR REVIEW

Soft Daytime Make Up meets Smokey Eyes.

Good thing there's such a subtle approach to Smokey Eyes.
I am exploring the beauty of eye colors these days,
and I am enjoying it, really.
Being a fan of neutral earth colored tones,
the palette of today's product suit my preference so well!

Meet: E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color
Price : Php 129.75
Note: Seen that brown box above? It comes with
E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color and
a whole lot more (Php 400. approx)
Works well with : ELF 2-Way Cake Foundation (Click HERE)

CMK HAPPY THOUGHTS:
Coordinating Colors - I like how the colors
compliment each other. I'd prefer this type of palette
rather than stressing over too many colors specially
when time is of the essence (think: Nagmamadali? Nagmamadali?)
Easy. Peasy. Handy. - This cutesy will fit in your make up kit in no time.
Pigmented just right - A swipe or 2 will let you
achieve that subtle color. For a 'fierce' look -- a 3-4 swipe
(don't forget to blend) will do the trick.
Smudge-free. The colors are not chapping or caking on the eyes.
Very light. That's the best part. It feels like you're not wearing make up at all.

What about the wishful thoughts? And the subtly smokey sample on yours truly?

COMEDY HATS OFF : FAREWELL OUR KING OF COMEDY (DOLPHY QUIZON)

I was having my dinner earlier when there's a breaking news,
from ABS-CBN:

Dolphy died at the age of 83.

Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. is no doubt the Philippines Comedy King.
We all grew up watching his sit coms,
and while we somehow know for a fact that his death is coming,
it still hit me by surprise knowing that this is for real.

My favorite character of Tito Dolphy was
when he played the role of Mang Kevin in a sitcom,
Home Along the Riles.
Even watched 2 movies with the same title.
And also Home Along the River.

He's listed in Wikipedia! Click HERE.

Dolphy : 1928 - 2012

There's indeed a time for everything,
but to Tito Dolphy,
Thank you for making us laugh
and forget the sometimes, harsh realities of life,
even for a time. God bless you.

FASHION ALERT : BLACK ET NOIR'S VERSATILE LBD

Little Black Dress an evening or cocktail dress, cut simply and often quite short.
Fashion historians ascribe the origins of the little black dress to the 1920s designs
of Coco Chanel, intended to be long-lasting, versatile, affordable, accessible to
the widest market possible and in a neutral color. Its ubiquity is such that it is often
simply referred to as the "LBD" (Source : Wikipedia)
.

You know what surprised me most on the article above?
It's that Fashion Historians exists! Now - who says fashion is not history!
Going back, we've all had an idea about LBD's.  But for today's
Fashion Alert Series, I've inserted one savvy word "versatile".

Presenting : Lacy Little Black Dress from Black Et Noir
As I've shared (click HERE),
Black Et Noir is one of SM Ladies' Flagship Brands.
True to my word, I find their style so versatile and in-the-trend.
Note: Dress costs less than a thousand bucks!

Style #1 : It's a culmination of yet another fashion series.
The Black and the Royal Blue meets. (click HERE)
Used the LBD as my lacy top over a royal blue skirt from Bayo.
Capped it off by a caramel wedge from Celine.
